Porta is a portable table lamp designed for on-the-go lighting. It’s compact and lightweight, so you can take it with you wherever you go. The main body is made from ABS plastic, while a white acrylic inner screen ensures a pleasant and even glow. A silicone base ring allows Porta to stand securely.
A touch-sensitive dimmer allows for three levels of brightness, with 100% light intensity and 20 hours of battery life, 60 hours at 60% brightness, and 120 hours at 10% brightness. the Porta table lamp comes with a discreet USB charging cable, ensuring easy and convenient charging.
Characterised by its rounded, organic design cues, the cylinder base and elongated dome shape of the lamp shade contribute to an aesthetic cohesiveness.
The distinctive lampshade is designed to accommodate the need for pleasant, atmospheric lighting in smaller settings. When turned at a 90-degree angle, the lamp shade takes up less space, allowing it to easily fit into compact spaces such as windowsills, small café tables, or shelves.
Porta comes in three different colours Black, Grey and White.

Responsible Packaging
Normann Copenhagen is committed to ensuring that all our products are wrapped in responsible packaging that is safe for the product as well as the environment. Our packaging is made mostly from recycled materials and can be repurposed or recycled after use. Additionally, a significant amount of our furniture is flat-packed in a space-efficient method that reduces fuel consumption and thus CO2 emissions during shipment.
Construction
Porta Table Lamp consists of a lamp shade and base made from ABS plastic and an acrylic diffuser. Beneath the base, a small compartment allows for easily accessible charging, and a discreet tunnel for the charging cable ensures that
the lamp can charge while in use. A silicone base ring allows the lamp to stand securely. Porta comes with a permanently integrated, rechargeable, low-energy LED light source which has 3 light intensity levels: 100%, 40% and 10%, and a battery life of 20 hours, 60 hours, and 120 hours, respectively. The lamp comes with a USB charging cable with a length of 1 metre.

Legald
Simon Legald graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small- and large-scale products. Simon’s designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.
“Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the product’s functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me, simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
